Are you a technician ready to make a real impact on the future of brain health?🧠✨ This is your chance to be part of something truly extraordinary.
We’re looking for a research technician to join an ambitious project studying a unique cohort: cognitively healthy centenarians from the 100PlusStudy — individuals who have reached extreme ages without cognitive decline.
🔬 Together, we’ll unlock the cellular and molecular secrets behind their resilience by comparing their brains to those affected by neurodegenerative diseases across the lifespan. Using cutting-edge technologies at KU Leuven and VIB, including single-cell transcriptomics, long-read sequencing, proteomics and more, we’ll dive deep into how aging shapes the genome and cellular function, and uncover why some individuals remain protected against diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
💡 This is more than a job, it’s a chance to contribute to discoveries that could redefine how we understand aging and neurodegeneration.
👉 We’re seeking a highly organized, hands-on technician to support daily research activities and keep this complex project running smoothly.
📌 Note: This is a temporary position (replacement due to long-term absence), but the impact you’ll make will last far beyond. If you’re passionate about science, precision, and making a difference, we want to hear from you.
